The Bunkhouse,
|
The
bunk house, tastefully converted from a solidly
built Lakeland stone and slate building, has two bunk
rooms sleeping 7 and 13. There is a modern electric kitchen
for you to easily manage your self catering arrangements.
Plenty of parking is available for both car and minibus.
This particular accommodation will best suit climbers
and youth groups on Lakeland expeditions. Single bookings
can be taken, but the Bunkhouse is an ideal facility for
groups and is akin to the high mountain accommodation
that abounds in the continental alpine areas. The Bunkhouse is open all year round.

The site is seasonal from March to mid November. In
this modern, fast-moving society, the chance to sample
the attractions of the Ullswater area is one not to
be missed. Many have been inspired by the outstanding
natural beauty of this place; including Wordsworth
and the Lakeland Poets, and the famous artists and
photographers who have, over the years, attempted
to capture the beauty of Lakeland. The 3 reaches of
Ullswater give opportunities for the sailor, wind
surfer, and canoeist, plus the more leisurely sailing
on the Steamer, which plys a regular scheduled service
along this, the second largest lake.

For
the fell walker you are at the base of both the Helvellyn
and High Street range of mountains, with challenges
for both young and not so young. Pony trekking and rock
climbing are all available in the area.
